It is both a beer and a party. Black Raven Brewing is ready to release Flocktoberfest, a seasonal lager.

Full Sail’s brewmasters have opened the Wild Turkey bourbon casks from Kentucky and released this year’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, a deep and complex brew that is black as night with a strong roasted malt character and full body.

Host Brian Calvert (KOMO News by day) enlists his friends in the media and from local brewing circles to sit at the bar and blind test craft beers.  This week its Ninkasi’s Dawn of the Red India-Style Red Ale vs. Backwoods Brewing’s Big Cedar IRA.

Anheuser-Busch InBev has struck another high-end deal, this time purchasing the 225-year-old Belgium-based Brouwerij Bosteels.

Highly aromatic American beers using hops from states like Oregon, Washington and Idaho have proved particularly popular in Britain, say brewers.
