MORNING FOAM FOR MONDAY, AUG. 8 2016: A seven-taster flight of craft beer news, from the fluffy head all the way to the bottom gunk. …

Believe it or not, humans are not born with an inclination for handcrafted, hoppy India Pale Ales, and some have never developed a taste for bitter-forward beers. If you’re one of those people, I bet you’ve gotten some grief at some point from your “hop-head” friends. Don’t worry, you’re not an inhuman monster (probably — we don’t know you), and here’s why: distaste for hops is part of our human genetic heritage.

Sam Adams’ secret weapon for winning back the American craft drinker is Jennifer Glanville.

The first of its kind, The Beer Museum, debuts in Austin, Texas. The pop-up museum is the brainchild of husband and wife team Virginia and Matt Benavidez after embarking on a journey to imbibe as many unique beers as possible.

In a tropical craft beer collision of kindred spirits, Oregon’s Rogue Ales and Hawaii’s Paradise Beverage announce the release of Paradise Pucker, a Hawaiian-inspired sour ale brewed with passion fruit, orange and guava – better known as simply “POG.”

Tropical Trail Pale Ale, Titusvillain, Causeway IPA, Bottomless Blonde. The list is goes on. But creativity may be hitting a wall. Microbreweries increased 21.9 percent from 2014 to 2015. With that comes a dwindling pot of beer and brewery puns for local microbreweries to choose from when picking a name for their brews.

Life As A Brewer: “I’m usually up at 4:30 a.m. I cycle into work from Waterloo to Guelph, which is about 30 km and takes a good 50 minutes. You have to think about so many things when you’re on the floor brewing — temperature differentials and addition rates — so it’s good to get that bike ride in. The sky is pink; it’s nothing but countryside on one side and the Grand River on the other. Then I get in at 6 a.m. and the first thing I do is mash-in.”

The U.S. Olympic Swim Team has a Carpool Karaoke knockoff. While Olympic swimmers are awesome, including Bremerton native Nathan Adrian, their goofy videos maybe are not. But, it’s Monday, so what the hell.
