As each one tries to become the first in their families to attend college, the girls strive to make their dancing a success against the backdrop of the social unrest in the troubles city.
7 P.M. THE COMMANDERS: The Commanders, a newly-revived ensemble coming from the US Air Force Band of the Golden West, features 18 airmen delivering the full gamut of jazz music — traditional jazz, cool, bop, swing, Broadway favorites and patriotic music — at the Rialto Theater.
8 P.M. PHASERS ON KILL: The Valley welcomes local rockers Phasers on Kill, and almost surely packing as much pop-punk punch as ever. It can be assumed that anyone who went to high school in the early-to-mid ’90s and still holds an affinity for the cavity causing punk rock of the period will find something to enjoy in Phasers on Kill.
