Before the gates opened for day two of the Washington Brewers Festival at Marymoor Park in Redmond today, Specialty Competitions LLC and the Washington Beer Commission announce the winners of the fourth annual Washington Beer Awards.

This year’s competition included 950 entries from 139 different brewing companies in 56 categories, which were evaluated in a blind format using the Brewers Association Style Guidelines by panels of trained beer judges

Three special awards, the Small, Mid-Sized and Large Breweries of the Year, were presented to breweries that won numerous medals in many categories.

Ten Pin Brewing in Moses Lake took home the Small Brewery of the Year by placing well in four categories. Tacoma’s E-9 Brewery won the Mid-Size Brewery of the Year with a fist-full of medals, including two golds. No-Li Brewhouse out of Spokane won the Large Brewery of the Year with five medals including three silvers and a gold. E-9 Brewery also grabbed Best Washington Agricultural Product Inspired Beer for their Blackberry sour. Four Horsemen Brewery in Kent won Best Washington Malt Beer for the Black Plague Stout.

South Sound brewers brought home 29 total awards, seven more than last year. The following is a list of awards won by South Sound brewing companies:
