Portland Cider Company One-Off Night
Lynda, an expatriate from the Somerset region of England, aka the Mecca of cider, married Oregon native Jeff and the duo opened Portland Cider Company in 2012 with the mission of making cider handcrafted in the English tradition using fresh pressed juice from 100 percent Northwest grown apples. With production in Clackamas, Oregon, and its Portland Cider House in Portland’s Hawthorne District, Portland Cider Co. was the first cidery to become members of the Oregon Brewshed Alliance, an outreach initiative of Oregon Wild that is comprised of a coalition of Oregon craft beverage producers with a common goal to protect Oregon wetlands.
That’s all fine and dandy, but let’s get to drinking. Peaks and Pints will host Portland Cider Co. at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 12 featuring the cidery’s limited release, one-off ciders, including Fever Bark Tonic with whole juniper berries and cinchona bark, reminiscent of a classic Gin & Tonic.
PORTLAND CIDER COMPANY ONE-OFF NIGHT, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 12, Peaks and Pints, 3816 N. 26th St., Basecamp Proctor, Tacoma, no cover
