Peaks and Pints Six Pack 10.13.18: Mission Possible
Tom Cruise is back at the Blue Mouse Theatre with the sixth Mission: Impossible flick, Fallout, so we can all appreciate his perfectly preserved physiognomy. He actually broke his ankle during filming, causing what was announced as a nine-week halt in the production. But of course, he was back at it after only seven weeks, because he’s Tom Cruise and he’s an immaculate physical specimen. Have we mentioned that? Anyway, grab a six pack at neighboring Peaks and Pints on the way home.
ANYTHING GOLD BRUT IPA, Three Magnets Brewing: The malt bill of ESB, Pale Munich, Cara Pils and rye are barely noticeable with the high attenuation using an English yeast and enzymes to help ferment out nearly all of the residual sugars. Kettle hopped with Denali, and dry hopped with Hallertau Blanc and Huell Melon, this IPA offers soft, clean flavors of peach and white grape. 6.5%, 16oz
MXPX BEST LIFE IPA, Silver City Brewery: The second collaboration with Bremerton-based punk band MXPX is an unfiltered IPA featuring classic, Left-Coast hop character and a malt bill incorporating flaked wheat, fermented with the brewery’s specialized “haze” yeast. 6.2%, 16oz
CONSIDER YOURSELF HUGGED, Prairie Artisan Ales: A new imperial stout from Prairie incorporates a very different kind of coffee: peanut butter roasted coffee. Brewed and bottled at Krebs Brewing Co. in Krebs, Oklahoma, Consider Yourself Hugged has strong peanut butter on the nose and tongue with added burnt malt flavor and a slight hot finish. 11.9%, 12oz
DOUGLAS IPA, Pike Brewing: Pike’s Douglas IPA is a “modernized” take on the resin-forward West Coast IPA: Pilsner malt base paired with whole leaf Cascade and dry hopping done with Loral cryo hops to create a light mouthfeel with fresh pine notes. 7.2%, 22oz
ELEVATION CALCULATION, Revision Brewing: This smooth New England style double IPA brewed with Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe hops has big tropical and citrus aroma and flavor with slight sweetness and pine. 8%, 16oz
MISCHIEF, The Bruery: The hoppy Belgian-style golden strong ale is now in cans! A restrained hybrid of Duvel and Van Steenberge-style estery Belgian strong ale and taut US hopping Mischief hits the tongue dry with obvious sub-layers of cooked stone fruit and pear drop esters. 8.5%, 16oz
