You don’t hear it, do you? Bend an ear. No pitter-patter on the tin roof. Look outside. For a brief moment, it’s not chilly or drizzling. It’s not foggy or sleeting. The flagrantly unpleasant winter weather outside, weather that has slammed the South Sound since you kissed that stranger on New Year’s Eve, is on hold for a brief second. It’s 49 degrees outside Peaks and Pints World Headquarters. Beach day! Let’s grab a sixer and head to the beach!

THE BREWED ABIDES, Pelican Brewing: Peaks and Pints drank this milk stout from the teat at Pelican Brewing in Pacific City today. The Brewed Abides takes its inspiration from the classic White Russian cocktail, as well as The Dude imbibing it in the movie that made it famous, The Big Lebowski. This milk stout is brewed with Costa Rican coffee beans, cacao nibs, vanilla beans, pure coastal water, and pure ale yeast abiding in harmony to create intense, rich flavors with hints of coffee, caramel maltiness and a velvety mouthfeel. 7%

NOR’EASTER BARLEYWINE, Kulshan Brewing: The Bellingham brewery aged this English-style barleywine in oak for bold, complex flavors and aromas of toffee, roast, vanilla, raison, sweet malt, dried dates, figs and generous hop presence. 13.4%

HAMA HAMA OSYTERS IN STOUT, Three Magnets Brewing: This foreign export stout is brewed in collaboration with Hama Hama Oyster Farms and Saloon. Incorporating oyster shells, brother, and meat, the Olympia Brewery coaxed the minerality and “merior” (the coast lines equivalent to terroir) of one of Puget Sound’s most celebrated delicacies and enveloped them in a rich, chocolately export style stout. 7%

HI JUNO, Revision Brewing: Hi Juno is a Northeast style IPA brewed with Citra and Mosaic hops and a touch of milk sugar for a hazy lemon yellow color with a frothy white head leaving substantial bubbly lacing. The nose is sweetish citrus followed by loads of more citrus, a bit of vanilla sweetness and a hint of grassy hoppiness. 6.5%

POUR DELICIOUS NE STYLE, Revision Brewing: Here is Revision’s hype on this triple IPA: “It’s late. Probably close to 3:00 AM, but your phone is for making questionable calls and looking at funny videos, not for checking time. Yeah, one more sounds like a good idea. Maybe even a GREAT idea. And whoa, you’re a unicorn. Brewing this beer with Mosaic, Vic Secret, and Amarillo was a good decision.” 11%

WICKED HAZY BUBBLAH, Matchless Brewing: For the uninitiated, “bubblah,” is the pronunciation for “bubbler,” which means, “a drinking fountain.” Sentence: If you’re thirsty just go grab a sip from the bubblah. Peaks and Pints will be sipping all the Matchless Wicked Hazy Bubblah, a juiced-out, fluffed-up, auto-tuned haze bomb with Galaxy, Waimea, and Topaz hops. No fruit was harmed this time but the Tumwater brewery can’t say the same for clouds and pillows. This fountain is bursting with notes of ripe melon and peach. 6.7%
