Peaks and Pints Pastry Pairing Pop-up: Urban Family

The tantalizing images in The Vintage Baker’s Instagram feed look like typical treats — you have cupcakes topped with swirls of frosting, cinnamon rolls dripping with icing, taco cookies filled with chocolate buttercream dunked in chocolate. (Cue screeching bakery truck wheels): Indeed, Jessica Duggan, aka The Vintage Baker, thinks outside the cake box from her kitchen in Puyallup. Peaks and Pints also thinks outside the box proven when we pair The Vintage Baker’s cupcakes with Urban Family Brewing’s “Heart” sours for the inaugural Peaks and Pints Pastry Pairing Pop-up at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. Five Urban Family sours will be paired with three Duggan cupcakes, including at least one cupcake made with one of the beers.
