>>> Each year Green Flash Brewing introduces a limited-release beer starring a new pinup-inspired icon. For 2015 they have the national debut of Treasure Chest, an IPA brewed with grapefruit, prickly pear juice and hibiscus flowers. Established in 2011 by Green Flash co-founder and breast cancer survivor Lisa Hinkley, Treasure Chest serves as a fundraiser to fight breast cancer. Pint Defiance joins the cause hosting a Green Flash party featuring the Treasure Chest IPA in 22-ounce bottles. Green Flash will donate $1 to breast cancer research for every bottle sold. Pint Defiance will donate a $1 for every pint sold. The Tacoma beer store will also pouring plenty of Green Flash and Alpine Beers including East Village Pilsner, Oculus Sauvage Red-Wine-Barrel Belgian IPA, Alpine Nelson IPA and bottle pours of Natura Morta Plum Sour and Flanders Drive. 5-7 p.m., Pint Defiance, 2049 Mildred St. W., Tacoma, 253.302.4240
>>> When thinking of pairing dinners, craft cider doesn’t necessarily spring to mind. Yet Wednesday, chef Jacob Thacker will be collaborating with Two Beers Brewing Co. AND Seattle Cider Company co-owner Eric Willard to create a beer-and cider pairing dinner that will be sure to please beer enthusiasts at The Swiss Restaurant & Pub. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., four food courses, three ciders and three beers will flow to The Swiss’ middle event space, while Willard recounts fate and fermentation of his two passions, with Thacker waxing recipes and flavors. 6:30 p.m., $40, The Swiss Restaurant & Pub, 1904 Jefferson Ave., Tacoma, 253.572.2821

>>> Pacific Brewing & Malting Co. will host a “First Anniversary Celebration” with live music, special seasonal and limited edition beer, food, prizes and more at their brewery. Rock reggae band The Approach will perform, a band that recently brewed their own beer at Pacific Brewing. Local food trucks Frying Dutchman and VietNom Nom will park outside on Pacific Avenue. There will be free juice boxes for the kids. Attendees of the First Anniversary Celebration will also enjoy pints of popular year-round offerings, plus all-new seasonal brews including (but not limited to) Baron Von Huth Oktoberfest, Venerator Doppelbock, and Bavarian Hefeweizen.
