Jan. 3, 2020, Matt and Ryan Goodwin, and Joel and Jordan Tampien, two sets of brothers, opened Brick West Brewing Co. in the former Watts Automotive building on the west end of downtown Spokane. Behind the “beer hall” taproom and a large patio, Sam Milne brews the beers in the 15,000 square foot, 15-barrel brewhouse. Milne started as a home brewer before working at Pyramid Brewing Co. in Seattle and Kulshan Brewing Co. in Bellingham. He was a recipient of the 2018 Falconer Foundation Siebel Brewing Scholarship, which allowed him to study craft beer brewing at the Siebel Institute in Chicago and Doemens Academy in Munich. Today, Peaks & Pints presents a to-go flight of Brick West beer — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Pilot Program: Brick West Beer Flight.
