Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Reuben’s Beer

Share

Reuben’s Brews is the most award-winning brewery in Washington – collecting more than 300 medals since opening in 2012. Recently, the brewery took home nine medals at the 2024 U.S. Open Beer Championship, including gold for their Citra Wit and Yakima Pure Hop Water. The U.S. Open Beer Championship judges more beer styles than any other competition in the world. The judging was held at the U.S. Open Event Center in Oxford, Ohio. The U.S. Open became the first beer competition to be held in its own venue which is a 6,000 square-foot Amish pole barn located on a small farm. Winning medals has always been Reuben’s Brews founder Adam Robbings’ thing. The Englishman’s beer recipes killed at homebrew competitions, including winning the silver medal at the National Homebrewing Competition in 2012, and his talent, along with a Kickstarter campaign that raised close to $11,000, eventually earned him, and his wife, Grace, their own brewery — Reuben’s Brews officially opened in Seattle’s Ballard district in August 2012, which they named after their son, Reuben. From 5-8 p.m. tonight, Peaks & Pints will pour Reuben’s beers, including several from their cellar. We’re also offering an all-day, Reuben’s Brews flight — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Reuben’s Beer.

Reuben’s Gose-a-rita

4.3% ABV

Reuben’s put a citrus twist on their award-winning Reuben’s Gose — Gose-a-rita. Made with lime, lime zest, sea salt, and coriander, this fruited gose is refreshingly tart with a vibrant salinity and a bright note of lime.

Reuben’s Farm & Oak Aprium

7.6% ABV

Reuben’s Farm & Oak Aprium is a mixed fermentation blonde ale aged in oak and conditioned for a few months on 2019 harvest apriums from Collins Family Orchards in Selah, Washington. Expect tart apricot and plum notes with a slight funkiness.

Reuben’s Gorgeous IPA

7% ABV

Brewed with Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin hops, Reuben’s Gorgeous IPA reminds us that there’s beauty in simplicity. The combination of ingredients in this limited release adds up to an aromatic, West Coast-style IPA that leans into flavors of passionfruit, honeydew, white grape, and bright citrus, especially orange.

Reuben’s Substation

7.2% ABV

Reuben’s production brewery is opposite a major substation in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. It provides the power to their beers. The electric hum inspired them to brew something electrifying. Reuben’s took their learnings from a multitude of different beers and combined them into this premium IPA, Substation. Brewed with Simcoe, Chinook, Citra, Mosaic, Talus, and CTZ, expect hop aromas and flavors of light floral, with hints of oranges, pine, and grapefruit over a malty backbone of caramel, biscuit, toasted malts, and malty sweetness.

Reuben’s Three Ryes Men

13.7% ABV

Three Ryes Men is Reuben’s US Beer Tasting Championship Grand National Champion, Craft Beer & Brewing Top 20 of 2020, FoBAB Silver-winning, and GABF Bronze-medalist barrel-aged barleywine. The English-style barleywine is brewed with multiple types of rye and aged in whiskey barrels, featuring a full body with malt driven caramel and chocolate notes, and layers of warming complexity. Adam calls it a “liquified ROLO.”
