Peaks and Pints Christmas Beer Flight Dec. 18: Midwinter Revels

Share

Don’t let these dark days get you down, Eliza. Hop in the Puget Sound Revels time machine, journey back to the days of colorful folk stories, beautiful harmonies, lively dances, resplendent costumes, and intriguing traditions in this year’s “Midwinter Revels”. We’re talking singing, dancing, storytelling, beauty, mystery, and hilarity inside the Rialto Theater. This year, the Revels are travelling back in time to 19th century New York City. Seneca Village was a charming rural community founded by African Americans in 1825, and thrived for 30 years before the Parks Commission came in with plans for Central Park. Stage Director Michelle Matlock has crafted a story of joy and resilience inspired by this historic Village, and Music Director Megan Oberfield is leading our talented Chorus. The show includes a delightful blend of African American, Irish, and German traditions. Don’t miss this incredible production. It’s Christmastime in Seneca Village at 7 p.m. inside the Rialto Theater. In celebration, Peaks & Pints presents a holiday beer flight to enjoy before or after The Midwinter Revels 2024: Christmastime in Seneca Village — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Christmas Beer Flight Dec. 18: Midwinter Revels.

Peaks and Pints Christmas Beer Flight Dec. 18: Midwinter Revels

Great Notion Holiday Fruit Monster

6.1% ABV

If you’re on the naughty list this year Great Notion Brewing has you covered. Holiday Fruit Monster is a puckering beer with cranberry, tangerine, vanilla, spices, milk sugar and a touch of coconut cream.

Kings & Daughters Winter In London

6.8% ABV

“Winter in London is a beer created to celebrate a time and place, but most of all, the memories — both new and old,” writes Kings & Daughters. “This full-bodied yet dry West Coast IPA showcases a powerhouse combination of hops: Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic (the Holy Trinity), along with the complementary hop Krush (formerly HBC 586), which elevates the beer to another level. Spiced orange and bright berry notes, along with a refreshing citrus zest, lead the way. A classic Pacific Northwest IPA base of Pale, Wheat, and a touch of light Munich malt provides the perfect backbone. It’s a classic yet modern beer, celebrating both the past and the present.”

Baerlic Yippie-Ki-PA

7.2% ABV

Baerlic Brewing brews down-to-earth beers made by down-to-earth guys. In 2014, then-homebrewers — Ben Parsons, a graphic designer, and Richard Hall, who earned his paycheck as a bike mechanic — took their work-a-day approach to life and transplanted it into Baerlic, which means “of barley” in old English. Tucked onto Southeast 11th Avenue in Portland’s Central Eastside — during one of the densest thickets of breweries in the city — the “stubbornly independent brewery and taproom” Baerlic Die Hard IPA, Yippie-Ki-PA, is brewed with enough resinous and dank pine to take down a terrorist with just enough malty sweet left over for the love of his life …Yippee Ki Yay Mother Gruber!

Wander Winter Warmer

7.5% ABV

Founded in October of 2013 by the husband-and-wife team of Chad and Colleen Kuehl, Wander Brewing became Bellingham’s fourth production brewery when they opened their doors in May of 2014. It only took 10 years before they brewed their first winter warmer. With nutty caramel aromatics, and a deceptively hoppy up front taste, their Winter Warmer has additional notes of honey and biscuit giving way to a piney finish.

Varietal Grievous Angel Barrel Aged Stout

11.7% ABV

This Washington Beer Awards gold medalist blend of oatmeal and milk stouts is aged in second-use Woodford Reserve Rye and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon barrels for 18 months for notes of bakers chocolate, fresh roasted coffee, and oaky vanilla, with just a touch of char and peppery spice on the finish. And since Varietal Beer‘s base beer is a blend of Oatmeal Stout and Milk Stout, it drinks creamy-smooth from a touch of lactose.
