MORNING FOAM FOR MONDAY, NOV. 7 2016: A seven-taster flight of craft beer news, from the fluffy head all the way to the bottom light. …

As part of its 20th Anniversary Series, Silver City Brewery has released its Nutcracker Spiced Ale on draft and in 22-ounces bottles. The Bremerton brewery is ringing in the holiday season with a medley of dark roasted malt, fruit, and spice. Distinctive Belgian yeast adds spice character, as do additions of brown sugar, ginger root, and mandarin peel.

Speaking of local holiday craft beer, O-Town Brewing Co. has released Figgy Puddin’ Russian Imperial Stout with locally-sourced, original Olympia figs. This rich, dark-colored stout starts out slightly tart, but soon gives way to a mild roastiness. Figgy is a full-bodied beer with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel and a dry finish.

Fish Brewing Co. will release its Fish Tales Ales Winterfish Imperial IPA at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 in its Fish Tale Brewpub in downtown Olympia. Winterfish is a bold imperial made with 100% Yakima Chinook hops, which means spicy, piney aroma with aggressive spicy pine, spruce and citrus flavors. Spire Mountain Ciders Winter Warmer Cider — a comforting blend of fall apples, nutmeg, graham cracker and whipped cream — will also be released at the Brewpub.

Top Rung Brewing Co. in Lacey has added two 40-barrel tanks and a whirlpool to its taproom.

Portland-based Bee Local traveled to Central Oregon to help Deschutes Brewery establish some beehives. The hives found a great location to flourish that also happens to be the home of Deschutes Brewery brewmaster Veronica Vega. Once enough honey was collected Deschutes brewed a nut brown ale that incorporated this honey — Honey Nut Beerio. This beer is available on draft at Deschutes’ Bend and Portland Public Houses, as well as Lardo and Irving Street Kitchen in Portland for a limited time.
