Founders Brewing Co., located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been churning out beers since its founding in 1997 — but, until recently, not in the Pacific Northwest. In 2015, Founders finalized selling 30% of its company to the Mahou San Miguel group of Spain, which meant Founders could expand their reach into new markets — Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Peaks and Pints now carries Founders, specifically:
All Day IPA: a balanced “session IPA,” constrained to a reasonable 4.2 percent ABV for repeated drinking;
Dirty Bastard: an 8.5% ABV Scotch ale brewed with seven different malts and packed with flavors and aromas of smoky peat, vanilla, caramel, raisins, and nutmeg;
Rubaeus: a raspberry ale with fresh raspberries added at five different stages of brewing for a lightly carbonated, well-balance, sweet, tart easy drinker.
