We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Instagram was practically made for pictures of people craft beer after a day on the slopes. OK, we’ve never said that, but Bale Breaker Brewing Company did. OK, Bale Breaker probably didn’t say that, but the Yakima Valley brewery sure wants to see pictures of you drinking its beer after a day at White Pass Ski Area.
Bale Breaker has launched an Instagram contest asking people to post pictures showing Bale Breaker love at White Pass with the tag, #freshofftheslopes. Does performing an Ollie off an embankment with a 360-degree spin wearing a Bale Breaker beanie count? No, because that’s not #freshofftheslopes. Does forming an “X” with skis before landing wearing just a Bale Breaker T-shirt count? No, because that’s not #freshofftheslopes. Building an igloo out of Bale Breaker coasters at the top of Tree Hugger run? Knock it off. Bale Breaker is looking for shots of you in your RV with hat hair drinking its Topcutter IPA. The brewery wants to see a photo of you drinking Bottomcutter IPA on the bottom of a hot tub. As long as you’re 21 or older, enjoying après ski with a Bale Breaker brew, tagging #freshofftheslopes and doing so before the end of March, you’ll be eligible to win four White Pass lift tickets (17-18 Season), $100 White Pass gift card and $200 Bale Breaker gift card — if your Instagram shot is the best #freshofftheslopes it can be.
Each week Bale Breaker will select the best pic that follows the above rules. The 11 weekly winners will receive a $20 Bale Breaker gift card. Followers will vote on the grand prize winner between March 21-30, and the brewery will announce the winner March 31, 2017.
That’s awesome, indeed, but what’s more awesome is Bale Breaker’s commitment to help build a new White Pass Ski Patrol Clinic. Currently, the patrol bandages skiers out of a small, 1960s-era patrol room. The brewery will make a donation to the new, 2,000-square-foot White Pass Ski Patrol Clinic Campaign for every keg of Bale Breaker beer sold at White Pass during the 2016-2017 season.
