SudsPop: Positive Vibrations with Pacific Brewing & Malting
Date: January 2, 2017 - January 2, 2017
Event Information
Since Peaks and Pints loves music AND craft beer, we’d thought it would be fun to formally mix the two every Monday night. We’re calling the series SudsPop, asking breweries to supply music playlists and craft beer, as well as host activities such as trivia and games of skill — with a different theme for each Monday. Pacific Brewing & Malting Co. grabbed January, which means its sales executive Andy Kenser was in the house last night. “Positive Vibrations” was the theme, with Solomon Burke, The Black Keys, Damian Marley, Matisyahu, the Pixies and others pumping out good vibes while Kenser hosted a ’70s smiley face coloring contest with prizes for the four best artworks, chosen by the crowd.
In regards to the coloring contest, Wes grabbed first place for converting the ’70s smiley face icon into a pig. Shawn Thompson’s Cascadia flag smiley face took second place. Joey’s Goth joker rendition nailed third place winner. Converting the smiley face into a Pacific Brewing & Malting Co. label won Mac Smith fourth place. Thanks to all who participated. Drop by Peaks and Pints to see all the entries.
Next Monday, Jan. 9, Kenser is back in the house with more Pacific Brewing craft beer and the theme “Jimmy Page’s Birthday Party.” It’s Page’s birthday that Monday, and Kenser will select musicians that influenced the great guitarist, as well as several select tunes from his bands. Those with the most Page-related knowledge will no doubt score high in the night’s trivia contest. See you at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 9 at Peaks and Pints. And remember, “If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow, don’t be alarmed now; It’s just a spring clean for the May Queen.”
