From Fort George to Worthy and on to Gigantic, the Cosmic Collaboration Series from Ecliptic Brewing has most recently been Oregon brewery focused. This time around however, Ecliptic looked out east for their next collaboration partner. Melvin Brewing from Alpine, Wyoming traveled to Portland to create a beer that defies all explanations. The Cosmic Collaboration is playfully named, Space Ghost Golden Session Barleywine and takes inspiration from Melvin’s illustrious Imperial IPAs.

The 2017 Beers Made By Walking season is beginning to shape up. The latest city to have its 2017 hikes announced is Seattle. This series of hikes brings together naturalists and brewers to find ingredients in the wild that can be used in the brewing process. All the breweries participating are Partners of the Brewshed Alliance that currently has more than 50 Washington breweries on board. This Washington Wild outreach program helps people make a simple connection: healthy watersheds mean clean water, and clean water makes better beer.
GoodLife Brewing brewed Secret Stash #003, a refreshing Blood Orange IPA brewed with Comet, Mosaic, Idaho 7 and Cascade. The Bend brewery didn’t want to stop using hops there, so it dry hopped it with Galaxy and Citra. Goodlife Brewing will release Secret Stash at its 6th Anniversary Party Sat. June 17.
