No matter what name you know him by — Sinterklaas, Santa Claus, Kris Kringle, St. Nick, or Tim Allen — it’s no secret that Santa is better at “adulting” than the lot of us. How else would you explain his insane productivity (cheap elf labor?), varied interests, and ability to be in multiple places at the same time (quantum physics)? Anyway, he’s made a list, checked it twice, and regardless of whether you’ve been naughty or nice, he is going to show up at LeMay — America’s Car Museum today and tomorrow. It’s called responsibility — and it’s the true meaning of adulthood — whether you’ve aged a few decades or a few millennia. Santa will be at LeMay from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Claim 52 Thicc: Jolly AF

In 2012, Mercy McDonald, Jeannine Parisi and Trevor Ross opened Claim 52 Brewing in West Eugene, Oregon. Named after a donation land claim number it refers to the original tract of land in Eugene settled by pioneer William Luckey in the late 1800s. Today, under the guidance of head brewer Bryce Fisher, Claim 52 specialize in European-style, super-small batch beers made in the Northwest tradition, as well as exceptional hazy IPAs, and crazy, heavily fruited dessert sours such as Thicc Jolly AF Puree Gose conditioned on blackberry puree, sugar cookies, and vanilla.

Varietal Jangle

7.4% ABV

Jangle Bells serves as an elf at the North Pole for Santa Claus’s operations in the Rankin/Bass animated special The Year Without a Santa Claus. Along with his buddy Jingle Bells, he is sent into the outside world by Mrs. Claus to see if there are any people out there who still believe in Santa Claus. Jangle discovered plenty of holiday spirit and belief at Varietal Beer in Sunnyside, Washington. In fact, Varietal became so fond to Jangle they named their retro-modern winter IPA after him. Jangle, the beer, is brewed with Chinook and Centennial hops for a citrus-forward IPA with dank, resinous pine notes.

pFriem Belgian Style Christmas Ale

8% ABV

Poor Vixen. Peaks and Pints can’t imagine why she ever thought things with Blitzen would last. We mean, Blitzen has always had his eye on Cupid — it was just a matter of time. pFriem Family Brewers Belgian Style Christmas Ale may not fix her broken heart, but she probably took comfort in the wonderful flavors. This big dubbel-based holiday ale is brewed with German Perle hops, candi sugar, coriander and Belgian ale yeast that changes flavor with every sip. Just as you think it’s a toffee delight it morphs into chocolate-covered orange. Then raisin. And cinnamon pastry. Oh, and dried cherry. The flavors change as often as Vixen changes her mind.

Baerlic Ho! Ho! Hop Man

8% ABV

Santa was a little reluctant to encourage Rudolph to drink even more, but he knows Rudolph is a reindeer of his word: not a drop till after the last gift is delivered. And when Rudolph did his part, Santa rewarded him with his double IPA namesake, Baerlic Brewing Ho! Ho! Hop Man. This seasonal craft beer is brewed with Cascade, Nelson Sauvin, Citra, and Galaxy hop for big pine and sharp citrus character. And before you get all sanctimonious rewarding a reindeer with an 8 percent beer, let us remind you: it’s Rudolph’s red nose Santa hired him for.

Corsendonk Christmas Ale

8.5% ABV

Corsendonk Christmas Ale has all the sugar and spice. Brewed with Pale, Munich and Caramunich malts, plus Kent Goldings hops, this rich, dark, joyous brew has sweetish, yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, coriander, toasted coconut, some raisins and a touch of chocolate with similar tastes followed by a medium long, quite bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy and slightly roasty finish.
