Tim Sciascia, Connor Casey, and Kelly Caveney founded Cellarmaker Brewing Company in San Francisco’s SoMa district in 2013. After meeting at Marin Brewing Company, they acquired a former auto shop, completely gutted it, and turned it into their brewery and tasting room. Russian River was a big influence on the hoppy beers that Sciascia would go on to make at Cellarmaker. He and his crew are hopheads. He eventually began brewing hazy-to-opaque pale ales and IPAs. In November 2022, Cellarmaker acquired The Rare Barrel and its facility in Berkeley, California. In 2023, Cellarmaker was part of the Fort George 3-Way IPA. Today, Peaks & Pints presents an in-house flight of Cellarmaker beers — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Cellarmaker Brewing.
Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Cellarmaker Brewing
Cellarmaker Best Friends
8.2% ABV
This is a big chewy porter that focuses on quality malts. This luscious brew has the nose and flavor intensity of an imperial stout but comes in at a reasonable 8.2-percent. Best Fiends contains no adjuncts yet is packed with aromas of freshly baked chocolate croissant, graham cracker, cigar tobacco, high percentage cacao, and malted milk ball.
Cellarmaker Cloudy With A Chance of Dobis
6.8% ABV
Dobis is Cellarmaker’s 100-percent Citra hopped pale ale that starts with lots of Scottish Golden Promise malt to create a graham cracker base. Then Citra brings forth lots of pineapple, mandarin, citrus, and mango. Cellarmaker loves Citra; it is super juicy and flavorful. Cloudy With A Chance of Diobis hazy IPA has an expressive yeast to soften and add even more tropical fruity flavors, plus aromas of tangelo, mango, and pineapple.
Cellarmaker Zero Complaints
6.8% ABV
There’s plenty to complain about in life, but beer should hardly ever be on that list. Cellarmaker guarantees your pleasure with this hazy IPA brewed with a ton of Citra, plus Nelson and Strata, for a dry but juicy hazy with notes of grapefruit, honeydew melon, lime, passionfruit and white grape with some dankness and low bitterness.
Cellarmaker Juice Never Sleeps
7% ABV
Cellarmaker’s latest hazy hop chowder, Juice Never Sleeps, features a unique blend of HBC 586, Galaxy, Citra, and New Zealand Cascade for ripping aromas of Scorpion Bowls, Cadillac margaritas, Big League Chew, and Sour Diesel, followed by citrus, tropical, pineapple, floral and dank flavors plus a citrus, berry and dank finish with soft bitterness.
Cellarmaker Highway To The Danker Zone
8.4% ABV
This Nelson forward hazy double IPA features three hops selected for their outstanding aroma. Simcoe and Citra make up about 50-percent of the hop bill leaving plenty of room for the Nelson to be the showcase. Cellarmaker’s recent trip to New Zealand awarded them with some of the best Nelson they have seen in years. Highway To The Danker Zone arrives with pineapple, grape, guava, and diesel dank flavors.
