In September 2014, after seven years of homebrewing, writing business plans, watching Viking movies, and dialing in their branding, scientist Mark Bjornstad, builder Darin Montplaisir, businessperson Jesse Feigum, and engineer Mason Montplaisir opened Drekker Brewing in downtown Fargo, North Dakota. The brewery name is a nod to the region’s Nordic heritage comprised of the words “drekka,” which means “to drink,” and “drykkr” which means “draft drink,” and “drakkar,” the name for the feared dragon-headed longships that ruled the rivers and seas of Europe during the Viking Age. Their epic adventure began with a 10-barrel system in a 5,200 sq. ft. building brewing approachable and sessionable traditional beer styles. Drekker grew into a four-vessel 15-barrel brewhouse. They gained traction with a popular red ale and IPAs of all clarities. Then, they conquered smoothie sours, often considered the ambassador of the style. Drekker makes them in all shapes and sizes, from pineapple, guava, and passionfruit to a sour that’s designed to taste like a PB&J. Today, Peaks & Pints presents a to-go flight of Drekker beer — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Drekker Brewing.

Part of Drekker’s Braaaaaaaains pastry sour series, this double fruit smoothie sour is loaded up with blackberry, lemon, and apricot, then of course they hit it with their double secret smoothie treatment of sea salt, lactose, and vanilla.
Drekker CHONK Blueberry Fluff
6.3% ABV
Drekker’s CHONK Blueberry Fluff is stuffed with ripe blueberries and fluffy marshmallows with an extra thick body using a measured dose of plum. Drekker wraps it all up in a ribbon of silky lactose for a sweet, creamy finish for a blueberry jam over vanilla ice cream experience.
Drekker CHONK Strawberry & White Chocolate

“It’s a hefty boi, so thicc, an absolute unit, it’s CHONK!” screams Drekker. “A new series of some of the most decadent beers we’ve ever dreamed up that can only be described as a Sundae Sour. The inaugural plop is loaded with strawberries and smothered in white chocolate and lactose sugar. OH LAWD HE COMIN!”

Drekker’s Slang Du Jour Cherry Cheesecake is loaded with a whole pile of cherries, granola, cream cheese, lactose, and brown sugar for a flavor to match the big boss of the dessert world.
Drekker Wayward Cargo
5.9% ABV
Collaboration with Woven Water Brewing in Tampa, Florida, this weirdo take on a Cargo Cult cocktail is a tiki smoothie sour loaded with pineapple and banana and then conditioned on cacao nibs and coffee beans for a fruity and complex tiki party.
