Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Drink 5 Before Take 6

Share

With 10 Grammy Awards, 10 Dove Awards, 2 NAACP Image Awards, a Soul Train Award, and more, the quintessential a cappella group Take 6 (Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea, and Khristian Dentley) continues to bring extraordinary vocals to their worldwide audiences, including Tacoma tonight. Take 6 has admirably and adeptly crossed most musical genres, from straight-ahead jazz to pop to adult R&B, doo-wop to blues. Like a fine-tuned vocal orchestra, the group continues pushing the boundaries of creativity and musical genius with every new release and its ever-evolving live performances. Tacoma Arts Live hosts Take 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pantages tonight. Peaks & Pints suggests you drink five before Take 6. We’re offering a prefunk or postfunk flight of five hazy IPAs in a flight we call Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Drink 5 Before Take 6.

Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Drink 5 Before Take 6

Vice #1 Krush

6.7% ABV

Previously known as HBC 586, Krush hops are bright and bold with big flavors of stone fruits, citrus, and berries. Krush is ideally suited for fruit-forward IPAs such as Vice Beer’s #1 Krush. Brewed with 100-percent Krush hops, this hazy IPA has notes of melon, stone fruit, and a touch of dankness.

Block 15 A Nugg Hugg

7% ABV

Block 15 Brewing’s 2025 Nugg Hugg showcases the Corvallis brewery’s dedication to hop CO2 extracts and cryogenically harvested lupulin powder, a yellowish substance obtained from oil- and acid-rich glands on the hop flower. Explosively aromatic with sweetly dank bud, candied peaches, mango, and spruce, its flavor blends subtle pineapple and peach with a not-so-subtle embrace of dank and fruity herbs, finishing with a lingering wave of resinous pine.

Hetty Alice Peacharine Hazy IPA

7% ABV

Latest in Hetty Alice Beer’s series of small batch, draft-only pilot brews showcasing new hops and hop products, Peacharine Hazy IPA is named for a brand-new hop variety out of the breeding program at Freestyle hops in New Zealand. Peach rings and POG juice overwhelm the aroma and precede big juicy flavors of ripe nectarine, tangerine, lime zest, and pine.

Reuben’s Crush the Slopes

7% ABV

Reuben’s Brews Crush the Slopes Hazy IPA has a massive run of hops hitting this beer on the cold side, providing a theoretical IBU of zero, extra expressiveness on the nose, and special full-bodied juiciness. It hits the nose with a combination of orange and passionfruit, which carry over to the flavor, plus a bit of a dank note.

Lumberbeard SnowBird

7% ABV

Brewed in collaboration with CLS Farms and NZ Hops, featuring a 50/50 blend of El Dorado and Nectaron hops, Lumberbeard Brewing’s SnowBird juice bomb is full of white peach, tangerine, and pear candy flavors.
