Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Fresh Hoptoberfest Day 26

Share

For the eighth consecutive September, Peaks & Pints is throwing a month-long autumn beer party marrying two popular seasonal beer styles on draft — fresh hop beers and Oktoberfest lagers — this year naming it, “Dawn of Fresh Hoptoberfest.” In September 2017, in keeping with our multi-rooted sensibilities, Peaks & Pints hosted The Hunt For Fresh Hoptoberfest, tapping fresh hop and Oktoberfest beers daily. Crowds discovered bright, fresh-hop beers, just hours from field to kettle and mere days from the fermenter to their glass AND drank to their health with clean, hearty Oktoberfest-style lagers from Germany and nearby. Peaks & Pints hosted Son of Fresh Hoptoberfest in 2018, followed by Rise of Fresh Hoptoberfest in 2019, Behind Fresh Hoptoberfest in 2020, Bride of Fresh Hoptoberfest in 2021, Fresh Hoptobefest For Days in 2022, and Fresh Hoptoberfest VII Days A Week last year. Today, Peaks & Pints suggests you stop by and enjoy day 26 of our annual Fresh Hoptoberfest with an in-house flight of fresh hops and Oktoberfest lagers that we call Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Fresh Hoptoberfest Day 26.

Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Fresh Hoptoberfest Day 26

Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest

5% ABV

Firestone Walker Brewing’s Oaktoberfest is a twist on the German Märzen bier — a Paso Märzen, if you will. Traditional imported malts offer subtle honey-like aromas with hints of Noble hop spice. The stars of this brew are the imported Pilsner and Vienna malts that offer malty sweetness that carry through to the end. German Hallertau hops add rich Noble hop character to balance this Märzen. Pro tip: This beer is 100 percent stainless steel and gets the name Oaktoberfest as an ode to their hometown, Paso Robles, Spanish for “Pass of The Oaks.”

Structures Festbier

5.7% ABV

Structures Brewing’s Festbier is a pale lager brewed to Celebrate Munich’s Oktoberfest. Extended lagering yields a smooth, clean, rich but balanced profile. Expect notes of toast, honey, and white grape.

Fremont Field To Ferment

6% ABV

Fremont Brewing’s Field To Ferment fresh hop pale ale is brewed with 2-Row Pale, Munich malt, white wheat, and acidulated malt with fresh Strata hops plus a fresh Strata dry hop. It hits the nose with orange, grapefruit, apricot, tropical fruit with cantaloupe, fresh cut grass, florals, honey and earthy aromas. It sports subtle sweetness, mild bitterness and moderate lingering bitterness.

Narrows Brewing Is AG Fresh Hop Ale

6% ABV

Narrows Brewing owner Parker Rush grew the Centennial, Vista, and Cashmere hops for his Brewing Is AG Fresh Hop Ale. Infused with bold and vibrant notes of experimental HRC-002 and HRC-003 hop pellets from his friend Eric at Sannerud Hop Consulting, this brew delivers an invigorating bouquet of fruit aroma. The result is a crisp, refreshing ale that showcases local agriculture and brewing collaboration.

Double Mountain Fresh Iowa Bar Fight

6.4% ABV

For this year’s fresh hop beer season, Double Mountain Brewery teamed up with nearby neighbor Solera Brewery to release a fresh hop version of their Iowa Bar Fight brewed with fresh Strata hops from Crosby Hops. It hits the nose with freshly cut grass, melon, catty tomato plant, citrus peel and some lemon balm. On the tongue, expect bright, peppery spiciness that has a bit of resin and floral character.
