Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Fresh Hoptoberfest Friday

Share

For the eighth consecutive September, Peaks & Pints is throwing a month-long autumn beer party marrying up two popular seasonal beers — fresh hops and Oktoberfest bier. Launched Sept. 1, Peaks & Pints taps fresh hop and Oktoberfest beers daily through Monday, Sept. 30. Enjoy bright, hop-hazy fresh-hop beers, just hours from field to kettle and mere days from the fermenter to your glass AND clean, hearty Oktoberfest-style lagers from Germany and nearby during our Fresh Hoptoberfest. Today, Peaks & Pints offers another Fresh Hoptoberfest flight — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Fresh Hoptoberfest Friday.

Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Fresh Hoptoberfest Friday

E9 Charivari

5.7% ABV

Festbier, sometimes called wiesn, festibiere or Oktoberfestbier — a name that can only be used by breweries in Munich — has taken the place of Marzën in the beer tents dotting the Theresienwiese (Therese’s meadow) in Munich during the two-week Oktoberfest celebration. E9 Brewing brewed a traditional Bavarian-style festbier just in time for Peaks & Pint’s annual Fresh Hoptoberfest fresh hop and Oktoberfest celebration. Charivari offers subtle complex bready notes and light sweetness that complements a grain built around Pilsner malt.

Reuben’s Brews Festbier

5.8% ABV

Reuben’s Brews brewed this traditional German-style lager that celebrates the Oktoberfest season. Less malty and more drinkable than Marzen, this festbier is based on the beer now served at the Oktoberfest celebrations in Munich.

Great Notion Fresh Hop Easy Lift

6.3% ABV

Great Notion Brewing’s Easy Lift IPA is brewed with Cascade and Simcoe hops adding their citrus and pine notes with a boost from Mosaic. The fresh hop version receives an added boost of fresh Cascade hop cones.

Block 15 Static Shatter

6.75% ABV

The first of Block 15 Brewing’s fresh hop beers, Static Shatter American IPA is brewed with Strata, Cashmere, Simcoe, Comet, and Nugget Salvo hops. It was dry hopped with freshly picked Strata hops from Coleman Agriculture’s Alluvial Hop Farm in Independence, Oregon. After they grabbed the fresh Strata, they froze the hops with liquid nitrogen and shattered them to expose the lupulin glands when introduced to the beer during fermentation. Expect flavors of mango creamsicle and alfalfa, there’s freshness in every sip.

Hetty Alice Fresh Hop Strata Valley Fog

7.2% ABV

Fun fact: Hetty Alice Brewing grabbed all their fresh hops from Goschie Farms and Coleman Agriculture, both just a few miles from co-founder and head brewers Gavin Lord’s childhood home — and the former a good friend of his parents. Fresh Hop Strata Valley Fog hazy IPA is brewed with Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Strata T90, and fresh hop Strata from Goschie farms in Silverton, Oregon.
