Tacoma Arts Live knows there are plenty of holiday plays to attend this season — which is why it’s offering something different. At the Tacoma Armory tonight, it’s not just a wonderful life, it’s a wonderful … dance. The Holiday Dance Party offers holiday music by Rhythm & Verse, a group of local musicians playing a highly engaging mix of danceable pop, rock, and funk covers with a modern take on classic Christmas tunes. Dance your holiday stress away and connect with friends. Wine, beer, cider, a special holiday cocktail, and seasonal treats will be available at the bar. All ages are welcome from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Tacomaartslive.org. Before or after the Holiday Dance Party, stop by Peaks & Pints for a holiday beer flight — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Holiday Dance Party.

StormBreaker Fragile
5.2% ABV
StormBreaker Brewing has a new holiday-themed beer, Fragile (pronounced Fra-Gee-Lay), an Italian-style pilsner. Fragile is brewed with Ariana, Mittelfrueh, and Tettnang hops, which together produce a crisp, easy-drinking pilsner packed with fresh herbal, grassy notes and a hint of fruitiness. “Fragile pays homage to one of our favorite holiday movies, A Christmas Story,” states Rob Lutz, StormBreaker’s brewmaster and co-owner in a media release. “We love finding new ways to honor our favorite holiday traditions while also creating new ones, which is why we decided to brew a light Italian-style pilsner that is perfect for all types of beer drinkers.”
Pelican Bad Santa
7.5% ABV
“I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus,” sung by former jockey Jimmy Boyd, takes a humorous approach to a child’s shocking discovery of his mother’s infidelity. The Pelican Pub & Brewery in Pacific City, Oregon, brews a Cascadian dark ale that pairs with Mommy’s merry adulterer — Bad Santa. This mysterious dark elixir is filled with complex malt flavors and aromas with toasted malt and roast character, blending seamlessly to the alluring herbal hop aroma that comes from copious amounts of Fuggle hops. Bad Santa doesn’t care if Jack Skellington has been naughty or nice; he just wants Mommy.
Baerlic Jim Parker’s Holiday Ale
8.5% ABV
Jim Parker, who was a friendly, bearded fixture of Oregon’s craft beer scene and creator of the ubiquitous bar snack the totcho, passed a year ago. In the vein of the classic winter warmer ale, Baerlic Beer‘s Jim Parker’s Holiday Ale will warm your belly and tickle your tastebuds with the candied orange, grapefruit and pine flavors and aromas from our favorite northwest grown Columbus, Cascade and Chinook hops.
Left Hand Candy Cane Nitro
9.5% ABV
Take a walk down Candy Cane Lane and experience the aromas of rich chocolate, fresh peppermint, and a hint of coffee. Left Hand Brewing‘s Candy Cane Nitro smooth, full-bodied imperial peppermint milk stout is reminiscent of peppermint bark.
Bombastic Santa Caws
10.5% ABV
Bombastic Brewing’s Santa Caws Imperial Stout harkens back to the Christmas days of old when you might find a chocolate orange in your stocking. Savor this rich silky stout with notes of hot chocolate to make merry. A zest of orange flutters on the nose and lightly on the palate with a dash of nutmeg to round out this cup of cheer.
