Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Raspberry Cream

Share

Did you know that today, Aug. 7, is National Raspberries N’ Cream Day? Neither did we! Truth be told, this fact pisses us off. Here we are, getting ready to celebrate National Raspberry Tart Day Aug. 11, and raspberries and cream must be like, “Oh! Look at me! I’m special! I’m a parfait! I deserve my own celebration a few days earlier to upstage all you mere plebeian tarts.” Seriously: Screw off, raspberries and cream. Peaks and Pints will add craft beer to your dumb holiday. We’ll show you! We’ll shine the spotlight on raspberry flavored craft beer — with a side of creaminess — in what we call Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Raspberry Cream.

Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Raspberry Cream

Lindemans Framboise

2.5% ABV,

For those that love tart sweets, Lindemans has you covered with their Framboise. This raspberry lambic pours bright red and offers more fizz than froth. This super sweet beer also offers an amazing raspberry aroma. There is a sugary sweet here that overpowers the inherit sourness of a good lambic. Sounds like a bad thing, right? Put it in your mouth and see if you feel the same way.

Firestone Walker Framboise 2024

5.7% ABV

Crafted by blending foeder-aged Flanders Red style ale with barrel-aged Lil Opal Saison, and further enriched with 4,000 pounds of whole red raspberries, Firestone Walker Brewing’s Framboise 2024 undergoes a meticulous fermentation process for an additional five weeks, resulting in a delightful infusion of fruity complexity.

pFriem Frambozen

5.7% ABV

Pfriem Family Brewers brews their Frambozen with a malt bill of Gambrinus Canadian Pilsner malt, Rahr unmalted wheat, and Rahr red wheat under aged whole leaf noble hops. With a lactic bacterial culture and Brett, plus red raspberries from Hoffman Farms in Sherwood, Oregon, then aged in French oak barrels, Frambozen arrives a deep fuchsia, pink foam-topped nectar with perfumy aromas of fresh fruit, and flavors of fresh jam, plus a tart, prickly finish.

RaR Out of Order: RAWRGWAWGGR

6% ABV

In 2013, J.T. Merryweather and Chris Browhan opened Real Ale Revival, or RaR Brewing, on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, Maryland. The two graduates of Cambridge-South Dorchester High School had left the Eastern Shore for college and followed careers elsewhere before taking their homebrewing hobby to the next level, and by next level we mean a professional brewery in an 80-year-old former pool hall and bowling alley with a goal of producing well-balanced American pale ales and Belgian inspired brews 10 barrels at a time. Another round of RaR smoothie sour beer has landed in Tacoma — this time with a Star Wars theme. RaR’s Chewbacca-themed RAWRGWAWGGR growls with their lactose-infused sour base conditioned on blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, black currants, vanilla cake, and cream cheese icing.

Drekker CHONK Raspberry & White Chocolate

6.2% ABV

Drekker Brewing’s Chonk Sundae Sour is absolutely dripping with raspberry and creamy white chocolate and packs that absurdly decadently sweet, tart, rich chonky flavor you’ve come to expect and love from Drekker’s favorite hefty boi. ⠀
