Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: WeldWerks Brewing

Share

If you sit down at Peaks & Pints today to enjoy our WeldWerks beer flight with Juicy Bits, Extra Extra Juicy Bits and three first-time residents, take a moment to appreciate the brewery’s nine-year journey to becoming an established northern Colorado destination. In 2009, Neil Fisher began home brewing with friends in his garage. Fisher’s driveway held a lot of friends’ cars during those homebrewing days, and they all drank a lot of those homebrewed beers. Then Fisher threw down the gauntlet. He announced to his buds that if he medaled at the homebrew competition attached to the 2014 Big Beers, Belgians and Barleywines festival, which was held at the time in Vail, Colorado, then he would consider opening a brewery. He won two medals. Eleven months later he poured his first beer at his WeldWerks Brewing in Greeley, Colorado. His hefeweizen was turn heads before he brewed Juicy Bits, a hazy, juicy IPA that still is considered one of the best beers in Colorado. Since Peaks & Pints received another shipment of WeldWerks beer, we thought it’s time to offer an in-house beer flight of Fisher’s handywork — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: WeldWerks Brewing.

WeldWerks Watermelon Margarita

5.1% ABV

Made with watermelon puree and margarita mix, this fruited sour is Jolly Rancher sweet, tart, and practically a margarita in a can.

WeldWerks Itsy Bits

5.1% ABV

This GABF 2019 silver medal winning hazy pale ale is brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado. Loaded with soft, citrus that packs a punch, expect a clean, easy finish that leaves you wanting more.

WeldWerks Juicy Bits

6.7% ABV

WeldWerks flagship IPA features a huge citrus and tropical fruit hop character from the Mosaic, Citra, and El Dorado hops and softer, smoother mouthfeel from the adjusted water chemistry, higher protein malts, and lower attenuation. The result is a beer reminiscent of citrus juice with extra pulp, thus the name Juicy Bits.

WeldWerks Extra Juicy Bits

8.5% ABV

Extra Juicy Bits, the Double IPA version of Juicy Bits, WeldWerk’s popular New England-style IPA, is the most ambitious hoppy beer they have brewed to date. WeldWerks scaled everything up for Extra Juicy Bits, including malt, ABV, bitterness and most importantly, hops. They used an absurd 8.7 pounds of Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado hops per barrel, the most they have ever used in any beer, period.

WeldWerks Dad Nap

8.3% ABV

This hazy double IPA is brewed with Galaxy, Lotus, and Riwaka hops for a guava, pear, lychee, sweet, passionfruit, fruit punch, and sweet chamomile nose, followed by sweet orange creamsicle and tea leaves.
