THE FIX, Elysian Brewing: A big and bold imperial stout that is just as much a chocolate beer as it is a coffee beer. The Fix also may be the most caffeinated brew on the market, brewed with 9 pounds of Stumptown Coffee Cold Brew, or the equivalent of a 1/2 cup of coffee in every bottle. Elysian then aged the stout on 3,000 pounds of Congolese cocoa nibs from Seattle-based Theo Chocolate. This is an intensely dark and rich beer. 9%
HERDSMAN APRICOT SOUR FARMHOUSE, Dirty Couch Brewing: The Seattle brewery’s sour farmhouse ale saw all the grains with an overnight sour mash, and finished in old Resolute barrels with apricots for sour as hell puckering and a ton of fruit character. 4.6%
WINTER HEART, Urban Family Brewing: In Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood, this low-key brewery has evolved into a powerhouse of small-batch sour ales, including this apricot, blueberry and spice wild ale. 7%
SHINER BIRTHDAY BEER 110: S’MORE, Spoetzl Brewery: Celebrating 110 years, Spoetzl released this brew made with dark, roasted malts that serve up notes of cinnamon and caramel, backed by subtle hints of graham cracker and vanilla. 5%
MASSIVE!, Gigantic Brewing: Gigantic Brewing used only British Halcyon pale malt and boiled for eight hours, giving this barleywine a big fruity nose with dark sugars, a hint of cola, spice, a faint hint of sherry and traces of alcohol. The palate is rich and creamy with cherry, dried fruit and fig, plus toffee in the finish with a touch of bitterness. 12%
