Peaks and Pints Pilot Program: Seahawks versus Jets

Share

We’re taking a break from our Christmas beer flights for a to-go flight to pair with today’s Seattle Seahawks game against the New York Jets. The Seahawks host the winless Jets at Lumen Field at 1:05 p.m. As crappy as the Jets are, the Seahawks are coming off a Week 13 disaster to the Giants, so nothing is for certain. The Jets are still playing teams tough, but their worthy wide receiver Denzel Mims will miss the game for personal reasons, and their offense ranks 28th in the NFL. The outcome of today’s game will be determined by which Russell Wilson shows up — the first five games Wilson or the one after. You’re going to watch either way, and most likely drink beer. Why not drink a Seahawks versus Jets to-go beer flight? Stop by and grab Peaks and Pints Pilot Program: Seahawks versus Jets.

Peaks and Pints Pilot Program: Seahawks versus Jets

Urban Family Curse Breaker

6% ABV

SEATTLE: Seahawks cornerback Shaquill Griffin plays like he has a bizarre curse that allows him talent every other game. He was stellar against the Dolphins, then had a rough game against the Cowboys in week three but in the fourth quarter in week four he had an interception that turned into a touchdown on the Seahawks next drive and an extremely important batted pass on a sure touchdown late. In 2015, Urban Family Brewing moved its tiny, 4-year-old brewery in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood across Salmon Bay to lower Magnolia. Early this year, they moved back to Ballard and into an expansive new brewery in the heart of the neighborhood’s beer district. Their Curse Breaker blueberry sour ale explodes with juicy blueberry.

Old Stove If Only Juicy IPA

6.8% ABV

SEATTLE: If only the Seahawks could score 17 or more points by halftime today. If only Russell Wilson would read the defense and change plays on the line. If only Seattle could win the third quarter. Chris Moore and Brian Stan approached the Seattle Pike Place Market PDA and Market Historical Commission with a brewery idea. After many conversations, Old Stove Brewing was granted approval to become the anchor tenant of the MarketFront in 2017. If Only Juicy IPA is loaded with heaps of El Dorado, Citra, and Sabro, and some amazing photography used for the label courtesy of our friend

Timber Ales Between State And Main

6.5% ABV

NEW YORK: State and Main is a barbed social fable about what happens when a big-budget film crew marches into a small New England town to film a turgid 19th-century drama called The Old Mill. Today, the largest city in the States’ New York Jets marches into the 22nd largest city, Seattle, to play the Seahawks in what will be called The Same Old Spill. The plaid-wearing outdoors enthusiast Jason Stein would leave his Upper West Side apartment in New York City and travel to Long Island to homebrew barrel-aged imperial stouts and barleywines in his parents’ garage. He eventually called his talent Timbers Ales. Second Draft Beer helped him brew Between State And Main Spelt IPA dry-hopped with Cashmere and Citra hops for orange hazy hoppiness.

Nightmare Exposure

10.1% ABV

NEW YORK: With ravenous passion for horror flicks and death metal and a disdain for cookie-cutter IPAs, Billy Powell’s Nightmare became real in December 2018. He founded the Long Island-based, but gypsy brewery, Nightmare Brewing Company. Named after a torture where the victim is forced to lay face down in snow, doused with buckets of water in minus 20-degree environments, then forced to stand almost naked for 12-hour periods. Former New York Jets strong safety Jamal Adams now plays for Seattle after being exposed to criticism after his ugly divorce in New York. Nightmare’s Exposure is an imperial IPA dry hopped with 100 percent Cryo Citra and Mosaic hops for an earthy herbal, star fruit, honeydew and nectarine pit nose. The initial cold hop bite of pine quickly dissipates to a balanced malt body, candied mandarin rind, strawberry jam, and key lime zest.
