Peaks and Pints Prefunk: The Monday Mic Cider Flight 11.28.22
Stop by Peaks & Pints for a three-can flight of humorously named ciders before or after The Monday Mic at Tacoma Comedy Club tonight.
Standup comedy hasn’t evolved much since the glory days of ventriloquist and puppet. Every so often, there’s a Gallagher smashing watermelons or a musical funnyman like Jack Black, but for the most part, comedy is a person on a stage with a microphone, plodding through a joke-punchline-new-joke routine. Think you can do better? After all, you’re funny. You need to change the course of comedy forever.
The Tacoma Comedy Club has moved their open mic to Monday nights. It’s a viable launching pad for artists, like you, looking to break into the comedy scene. It’s a huge opportunity for you to perform on the same stage that’s typically reserved for established acts.
Peaks & Pints Prefunk
Grab these three cleverly named and delicious ciders from the Peaks & Pints cooler to enjoy inside our craft beer and cider bar, bottle shop and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District, or take home to enjoy before and after you hit the Tacoma Comedy Club stage … our one of their comfortable booths.
One Tree Boysen The Berry
6.8% ABV
Writer/director John Singleton’s Boyz n the Hood was a high point in the late 1980s/early 1990s Black filmmaking renaissance. Thirty-plus years on, it is still a hugely absorbing, superbly acted, brilliantly directed piece. In addition, the urgent, compelling message has lost none of its punch and remains depressingly relevant. One Tree Hard Cider’s Boysen The Berry is a hugely absorbing, superbly made, brilliantly cider with apples, boysenberries, pear, pineapple, elderberry, and plum for a sweet, fruity cider.
Yonder Phinneywood
6.9% ABV
Yonder Cider CEO Caitlin Braam enjoys her Seattle neighborhood of Phinney Ridge and cocktails. She’ll hand over a cocktail recipe to her head cidermaker, Monique Tribble, to transform the ingredients into a savory cider. A collaboration with Ken’s Market in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood, and a combination of her loves, Phinneywood represents the two neighborhoods with this strawberry basil lemonade cocktail-like cider that hits the tongue with bright lemon and a hint of strawberry with subtle notes of basil.
2 Towns Spice Spice Baby
6.9% ABV
2 Towns Ciderhouse released this new spiced winter cider crafted with fresh-pressed Northwest apples, Willamette Valley honey, toasted oak, and a blend of cinnamon, clove, allspice, and star anise.
