The Advent calendar, which counts down those 24 days until Christmas Eve, is as much a holiday tradition for many as the tree. Peaks & Pints’ version, Adventwiches Beeralendar, is a daily advent calendar featuring a holiday sandwich special and a winter beer behind a candy cane striped door. German beer enthusiast Sarah Jane opened the Day 18 door to discover Burgerwich Meister, Meister Burgerwich sandwich special paired with Ayinger Celebrator.
Kitchen Kylee isn’t toying around. Her Burgerwich Meister, Meister Burgerwich is roast beef, special sauce, lettuce, Beecher’s Cheddar, pickles, fresh onions, tomato on a non-sesame seed French bun. It’s paired with Ayinger Celebrator, a must among the residents in Sombertown to relieve the stress of their tyrant-led government. This award-winning doppelbock is a rich, toffee-rocked lager that’s dark, crisp, with a touch of chocolate and grape notes. While presenting a full body, it’s not cloyingly sweet and features a wonderfully creamy body and enough alcohol to warm your palate.
