Peaks & Pints presents Adventwiches Beeralendar Day 6: Do They Know It’s Field Roast?
Peaks & Pints celebrates the season with our Adventwiches Beeralendar — a daily advent calendar featuring a sandwich special and a winter beer behind a festival door. Today’s holiday sandwich is inspired by the British vegetarian supergroup Animal Aid who recorded “Do They Know It’s Field Roast?” several years after British supergroup Band Aid recorded a different version as a benefit single to combat famine in Ethiopia.
Day Six features Do They Know It’s Field Roast? and Christmas Ale …
Kitchen Kylee’s Do They Know It’s Field Roast? is field roast, pesto, herb and garlic goat cheese spread, roasted red bell peppers, onions, and spinach on rye. The thick, meaty texture and juicy of field roast makes it an extremely flavorful substitute for meat. Made in small batches with tangy tomato, rich smoky notes, hearty red wine and a wonderfully complex mixture of spices, field roast pairs well with winter warmers, such as Anchor Brewing’s Merry Christmas & Happy New Year (Our Special Ale) 2020. This year’s version is the darkest and highest ABV (7%) in the beer’s 46th years, with rich, chocolatey flavors and a smooth, easy-drinking profile.
Order the sandwich special ahead at 253.328.5621, and we’ll have it ready for you when you grab the Anchor winter warmer, or any of our 800-plus other craft beers, cider and wine.
