At Multicare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, everyone adores Olaf – not the charming snowman from the movies, but their beloved 8-year-old facility dog who brings joy to the pediatric ward. He is a highly trained and certified facility dog who works closely with young patients, providing comfort and companionship. Olaf and his dedicated handler, Kristen Bishop, work together to minimize stress and anxiety for patients undergoing various procedures and treatments, making each visit brighter and more bearable. Olaf could use some help! As part of Tacoma Beer Week, NW Beverages, Peaks & Pints, and Great Notion Brewing will host a benefit to help support the facility dog program at Mary Bridge with an Olaf Coloring Contest, silent auction, and specialty beer from Great Notion from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 7 at Peaks & Pints. Proceeds from every tap pour will support Olaf and the growth of the Multicare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Facility Dog Program. The silent auction will feature items from local businesses, including Wag Pet Market, H & L Produce, Harbor Greens, and Peaks & Pints, to name a few. Read the full story here. In conjunction, Peaks & Pints presents an all-day, Great Notion flight called Peaks & Pints Tacoma Beer Week Flight: Great Notion.
Peaks & Pints Tacoma Beer Week Flight: Great Notion
Great Notion Strawberry Cheesecake
6% ABV
Strawberry Cheesecake tart ale serves up juicy red strawberries, silky vanilla, and cheesecake flavor with a touch of milk sugar.
Great Notion Triple Berry
10% ABV
Triple Berry Shake is the biggest and baddest of Great Notion’s shake series of tart ales fermented with black currant, blackberry, blueberry, and finished with vanilla.
Great Notion Afterglow
7% ABV
Great Notion tweaked their Afterglow West Coast IPA recipe with a crisp backbone from 2-row barley, rice, California Ale Yeast, and loads of dank citrus aroma from Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops used in the boil, whirlpool, and dry hop. It hits the nose with pineapple, lychee, orange, and some dank melon, followed by citrus, pineapple, and some dank melon. This moderate bitter, easy-drinking West Coast IPA is the clear version of Juice Jr.
Great Notion Sub Harmonics
8.1% ABV
Sub Harmonics is back and remastered, and this hazy double IPA is the backstage pass for your senses. Great Notion dry hopped this one hard and heavy with Citra and El Dorado hops for a juicy lead of dirty peach and mandarin riffs, while pineapple and watermelon wedges play rhythm to keep your faces melted this week.
Great Notion Stamper Stout
6.2% ABV
One of Great Notion’s first beers, Stamper Stout, features assertive Columbus hops, dark chocolatey malts, and plenty of coffee beans from Portland’s Coava Coffee.
