Proctor & Pints: Wag Pet Market Squeaky Beer
Dear Mickey,
The beers with the paw print are yours and squeak. The other beers are mine and contain actual beer. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my beer bottle does not stake a claim for it becoming your beer, and, as you will notice, my beers don’t squeak. Also, bringing your squeaky beer toy down the street to Peaks & Pints in Tacoma’s Proctor District doesn’t do anyone any good.
Side note: Mickey, our porch stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating your human mom to the bottom is not the object. Tripping Kate doesn’t help because she will fall faster than you can run. An injured Kate means no walk and no Wag Pet Market.
Wag Pet Market has held a leash for 22 some years in Tacoma’s Proctor District. That’s still a puppy in dog years. The pet store offers a full stock of fun toys and great treats, including ZippyPaws Happy Hour Crusherz for needy but beautiful Goberians — a Siberian Husky and Golden Retriever mix — living in the Proctor neighborhood. Happy Hour Crusherz toys resemble beer, soda, hot sauce, and other human bottles products each including one plush sleeve, one crunchy plastic water bottle and a reusable, twist-off squeaky cap.
Side note: We cannot buy anything bigger than a king-sized bed, Mickey. We are sorry about this. Do not think one of us will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to us stretched out to the fullest extent possible. We also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
Beer Pairing
What you don’t know, Mickey, and frankly Kate, is Daddy fills the inside plastic bottle of the ZippyPaws Happy Hour Crusherz India Pale Ale with Here Today Brewery’s Glitter Paw Hazy IPA, crushes it, and then I toss the empty IPA dog toy across the yard several times until you tire of chasing it in less than 30 seconds. Since it’s fresh hop season, I will be filling the ZippyPaws IPA with the fresh hop version of Here Today’s Glitter Paw. The fresh hop hazy IPA is brewed with wet El Dorado hops from Leo Gasseling & Sons Farms in Wapato, Washington. Here Today Brewery & Kitchen is a modern brewpub on the Seattle Waterfront serving house-made craft beer, delicious food, wine, and cocktails.
Side note: Oh, and Mickey, for the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle we beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, bark, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. We must exit through the same door we entered. Also, we have been using the bathroom for years — canine attendance is not mandatory.
