Reuben’s Brews to release 4 beers this fall

Reubens-Brews-Roasted-Rye-IPAAutumn is a time for Oktoberfest lagers, pumpkin beers and wet hop ales, but fall fever doesn’t keep other styles from hitting the shelves. Reuben’s Brews will release four beers this fall — half of which has nothing to do with Oktoberfest lagers, pumpkin beers and wet hop ales. Tomorrow, Aug. 25, the Seattle brewery releases their Roasted Rye IPA for the first time in 12-ounce cans.

“This is the beer that started it all for us,” says Adam Robbings, co-founder and head brewer of Reuben’s Brews in pre-release hype. “The first recognition I ever won as a home brewer was for the Roasted Rye IPA back in 2010. It’s still one of my favorites and it reminds me of how far we’ve come in those six years, since the days of brewing in my garage.”

Before taking the 7% ABV, 80 IBU Roasted Rye IPA take a whiff of its citrus and tangerine aroma. But then comes the chocolate, roast and caramel notes. It’s India pale ale meets winter warmer. Reuben’s will release the Roasted Rye IPA in 22-ounce and draft when they damn well want to, but most likely it will be as the fall season cometh.

The other Reuben’s non-traditional fall release is their Life on Mars Imperial Pale Ale. Thursday, Sept. 1, you may sip this award-winning deep red brew with a bright nose of citrus, tangerine and pine supported by smooth caramel notes in 22-ounce bottles.

Sept. 1 also marks the release on their Imperial Pumpkin (8.7% ABV, 22 IBUs) in 22-ounce bottles. Brewed with pumpkin, brown sugar and spices, this pumpkin has a nuttiness about it, as well as a soft, rich malt backbone.

And, of course, a Reuben’s fresh hop will hit the street in probably late September. It’s the ol’ head to Yakima, select fresh hops, speed back to the brewery and brew Amarillo Fresh Hop story. According to hype, “this beer is driven by the intense notes of fresh-cut grass the can only come from using fresh hops. Amarillo hops provide a deep orange flavor profile with background notes of lemon zest.”
