PARKWAY TAVERN: The Parkway Tavern had a line out the door during its Tacoma Beer Week salute to Fremont brewing Monday. Last night, the Parkway had a full house for the Tacoma Brewers Blind IPA Challenge. We fully expect the Parkway’s day three Tacoma Beer Week treat will be equally packed. The Tacoma North Slope craft beer haven welcomes Washington state’s founding fathers of craft beer for a meet and greet and drink. Ever wonder what the landscape was like during the early days of the craft beer scene? Mike Hale of Hale’s Ales, George Hancock of Maritime Pacific Brewing and Parkway’s owner Jeff Fraychineaud, along with other craft gurus will be in the house with answers and beer. 6 p.m., no cover
THE RED HOT: In March 2014, the Aslan Brewing team of owner Jack Lamb, head brewer Frank Trosset and general manager Pat Haynes fired up the fermenters in Bellingham. This past January the 100 percent organic brewery was the first company in Bellingham to achieve B Corp certification. The certification acknowledges the company’s commitment to social and environmental ethics, transparency and accountability. That’s all fine and dandy, but the brewery also brews mighty tasty beers. HOP VALLEY BREWING CO.: Oregon-based Hop Valley — the maker of beers like Alphadelic, Citrus Mistress, and Alpha Centauri — is hosting a poker game during Tacoma Beer Week. Here’s the deal: Make your way to Delia’s Oakland Lounge from 5-7 p.m. and Tacoma’s Forum from 7:30-9:30 p.m. tonight then The Valley 5-7 p.m. and Half Pint Pizza from 7:30-9:30 p.m. tomorrow night, have a Hop Valley beer at each joint, collect a playing card, and then meet up with fellow Poker Pub Hopppers at The Swiss at 7 p.m. Friday to see who has the winning hand and win some prizes.
THE FORUM: Speaking of Hop Valley Brewing and The Forum, the downtown Tacoma restaurant and bar hosts Hop Valley and Two Beers Brewing Co. for a joint brewer’s night. 6-8 p.m., no cover
PINT DEFIANCE: Pint Defiance salutes Portland, Oregon during Tacoma Beer Week, tapping up some of the best that the Rose City has to offer, including Laurelwood Megafauna Imperial IPA, Cascade Shrieking Violet Bourbon Barrel Aged Blueberry Sour Quad, Breakside/Wayfinder “Definitely Not from Breakside” IPA and others. 5-7 p.m., no cover
