TACOMA PREFUNK FRIDAY, OCT. 27 2017: Ommegang Winter is Here and Tinder Live
PREFUNK: Winter has come to Westeros, and everybody is feeling the chill. Brewery Ommegang, the company that’s long worked with HBO to put out Game of Thrones-themed beers, is recognizing that fact with another libation in Peaks and Pints’ cooler: Winter is Here, a Belgian-style double white ale, brewed with pilsner malt, white wheat malt, and soft red wheat flakes, hopped with Saaz hops, and spiced with white pepper, sea salt, coriander and sweet orange peel.
7:30 P.M. TINDER LIVE: Lane More walked into the kitchen of her apartment and both of her roommates were on Tinder without realizing the other one was. She laughed and you will too when she hosts Tinder LIVE at Broadway Center’s Pantages Theater. There is already plenty of mean-spirited mocking of online dating profiles and experiences on the Internet, but Moore — who writes for the Onion and McSweeney’s and is a sex and relationships editor for Cosmopolitan — will keep the jokes lighthearted. BONUS: Longtime best friends and co-lead singers of popular Tacoma electro-dance-pop band Mirrorgloss, Del Brown and Najamoniq Todd, will share their infamous humor and style on the show, too.
7:30 P.M. EVENING WITH EDGAR ALLAN POE: The Lakewood Playhouse recreates an evening Edgar Allan Poe as the community theater invites the public to his parlor to hear some of his most famous stories of the macabre and imagery-filled poetry. Although suitable for all ages, best to accompany those who might need comfort should the tales be too disturbing.
